Minutes from 8/16/2010 Meeting

Those present were:  Matt Lasater, Amy Birdett, Alex and Albert Lopez, Melanie Fischer, Greg Jewett.

Recruitment
Recruiting from Brookhollow and Pflugerville Elementary.
Consist of 1-sheet flyer to put into back to school packets at each school, to send home with each kid.
The Pack at the school the back to school nights, and first PTO meeting night in September.

Pancake Breakfast
$4/per adult; $1/per child.
Using tickets and stubs, two different colors.
Tentative Date: September 11th (need to confirm with Church first).
Being coordinated by Amy Birdett and Alex Lopez (leaders), need more people willing to volunteer to help plan, get supplies, find vendors willing to donate items, cook pancakes, setup and clean-up.

We need the following items donated (if possible). 
Melanie and Amy to work on letters and running around to stores and vendors to get donations.  Others to help?!

  • Butter Squares
  • Sausage

Fall Campout
Inks Lake
September 15th, money is due, and if not paid in advance, then you are not camping.
Planning Meeting for the campout will be at the September Committee Meeting (9/15)

Pack Finances
Popcorn this year will bring in approximately $2000 (if all money is turned in by Dec 2010)
We have bake sale fundraiser.
Registration of new scouts.
Pancake Breakfast.
Blue and Gold?

Den Reponsibilities
Tigers will share each month with another Den until Feb 2011, and Show&Tell will be rotated in and out.
All other Dens assigned in fair order.


Pack Trip to USS Texas
Tabled, no funds realized to pay for 1/2 up front for registration.


August Pack Meeting
Outdoor Meeting, with water activities to stay cool.
Class B Uniforms
Watermelon to be served as part of games - Each Den to bring a single watermelon.

Catapult Camp Out Invitation
Pack 408 is inviting Webelos I and II to catapult with them over the weekend, November 12-14, Lost Pines.  It is camp-out where the scouts will camp-out and also build wooden catapults to catapult items.

Webelos Woods
November 5-7, 2010, initially open to Webelos II, might open to Webelos I.  Albert Lopez will bring registration forms when it is finalized.  Great time for Webelos to meet troops.  $10/head.  4-1 ratio kids to adults. (NE Pflugerville Metro Park)  Check in time is 5:30pm Friday.

Awards
should have already been given to Stacy.

Summer Time Activity Award
Is earned by attending 3 summer activities. (Pack meetings, camp, Belt Loop Fair, Council Camp, or Dell Diamond) Den meetings do not count.

Scout Jam
Is October 8th – 10th at Travis County Expo Center.
$10/head to visit, includes a lunch.
Pack 409 will not be hosting a booth - unless there is a volunteer.  Please see email from Matt.

MEDICAL FORMS
Need to be turned in for all scout and adult registered members of Pack 409. Turn in part one to Den Leader and parts 2 & 3 in a sealed envelope.

Those present were:  Matt Lasater, David Kerbow, Penny Webb, Chris Austen, Greg Jewett, Alex and Albert Lopez.

AWARDS – No awards this month.

DISTRICT ROUND TABLE

Will be July 8 at 7pm at the First Baptist Church on the southwest corner of Pecan Street and South 10th Street. All adults are encouraged to come. See map at: http://local.yahoo.com/info-19383882-first-baptist-church-pflugerville-pflugerville?viewtype=map

MOVE PACK SUPPLIES
July 11 at 4pm meet at Tom Burbridge and move supplies to the Lopez’s.

HOTDOGS IN THE PARK PACK MEETING
Held on July 17 from 10am – 2pm. Charge for pavilion is $150.00 so we need a new location. We will work on Leave No Trace. Wear Class B Uniforms. Activity will be Rain gutter Regatta’s, ice cream, and non creek related aquatics.

WEBELOS EXTREME CAMP – Is July 18 - 21.

NEED VOLUNTEERS
July 24 at the First United Methodist Church to help set up tables serve and clean-up for the food pantry supper from 5:30 - 7:30pm.

DELL DIAMOND OVERNIGHT – Is July 26.

DISTRICT COMMITTEE MEETINGS
Will meet at the Wells Branch Annex at 14000 Wells Port.
  • July 27 6:30 pm – Each Pack needs to send a rep. for camp promotion, special activities, comm. service, training adult volunteers, and youth advancement and recognition.
  • July 29 6:30 pm – Each Pack needs to send a rep. for finance issues - for the FOS program, Popcorn and fund raising for your units.
  • July 29 7:30 pm – Each Pack needs to send a rep. for membership issues – Scouting for youth with disabilities, religious relationships, education relationships and community relationships.   

BELT LOOP FAIR – Is August 14 and will be run by Stacy Lasater.

PARTY – We need a date for last year’s 5 booth popcorn sellers.

SUMMER TIME ACTIVITY AWARD
