Join us for the 101st anniversary celebration of the Scouting movement at the 62nd annual Boy Scout Parade and Report to the State of Texas.

Theme: "Prepared. For Life"

Downtown Austin will become a sea of Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Varsity Scouts Venture Scouts, Sea Scouts, and Explorer Scouts from all over Texas marching up Congress Avenue to the Capitol. Scout Delegates from each council in Texas are seated in the House of Representatives and report to a member of the state government about Scouting accomplishments in their council from the past year.

All scouts and Akelas are welcome to join Pack 409 and Troop 214 in the BSA Report to State Parade.
It is a lot of fun for adults and scouts, to participate in a large parade from Congress Street Bridge to Capitol.

Here are the details:
  • If you plan on participating, please bring 5 canned or dry goods for the Capitol Area Food Bank, per scout family.  Please drop off at LAZ Parking lot located at second and Congress Avenue. Look for the Capital Area Food Bank truck. This new event is in conjunction with the Scouting for Food Drive and the "Souper Bowl of Caring". Vehicle access to the LAZ Parking Lot from the east of Congress.
  • Please show up at the Congress Street Bridge and look for Pack 409 or Troop 214 between 7:30 and 8:00am, absolutely no later than 8:30am.
  • If is supposed to be chilly, so please dress in layers.  Since this is an official sanctioned BSA event, please attempt to wear as much of their uniform as the outside layer they wear that day.
  • Please try to eat a good breakfast.
