Blue and Gold Ceremony

Our pack has been growing again and we need a bigger space than the United Methodist Church (our normal meeting place) can provide.  So, we will be holding the banquet at the Immanuel Lutheran Church at 500 Immanuel Road in Pflugerville (a map from the normal meeting place to the new place is here: http://goo.gl/maps/XD6i.

As a reminder, this is the annual banquet celebrating the birth of cub scouting, and will take place of our February pack meeting.  It lasts about 2 hours and will be this next Saturday from 5-7pm.  We will be giving out Pinewood derby awards, as well as rank advancement awards, adult recognition awards, and a few others.  Please bring along friends and relatives, if you'd like.  This is the last pack meeting for our outgoing Webelos two den.  This is also the last pack meting where I will be the cubmaster (I will be the assistant cubmaster for a while to help with the transition.  We still do not have a new cubmaster.)

We have some other changes for this year as well.  

  • We are doing a pot-luck style meal.  Please bring enough of a main course and a side dish to feed you and your guests plus enough extra to feed 2-3 more people.  Please bring the food in a labeled serving dish along with some labeled serving utensils.  We will have cake for dessert, so you do not need to bring dessert.
  • Please let your den leaders know by February 7th how many people you are bringing so we know how many tables and chairs to set up.
  • We will be having a collection to help out the local food bank.  Please bring some non-perishable food to donate.
  • The banquet will begin at 5pm.  Please plan on arriving between 4:30-4:45 to get the food set up before the show starts.  The pack will provide plates, napkins, utensils, cups, bug juice and water.
  • Our theme is "space, the final funtier".  Feel free to dress up in fun and exciting ways (your cub scout should be in full uniform shirt with neckerchief, though.)
  • If any of you have a banner or mural that fits into the theme of "Space: The Final Funtier" that we can borrow, please bring it on Saturday.  Bigger is better (and if any of you have a mural of the Earth-rise picture the Apollo astronauts took, I would love to use it)
