Report to State and Scout Parade Canceled

In consultation with our event committee, council and statewide BSA leadership, local city and emergency authorities and feedback from unit leaders, we have decided to cancel our annual Report to State and Scout Parade. This event cannot be rescheduled. Patches and packets will be sent to all who pre-registered for them.

As with all of our Scouting activities, the safety of our participants factors heavily in this decision. The melting snowfall later today is expected to refreeze overnight, creating extremely unsafe driving conditions tomorrow morning - especially for members living in the eastern segments of our council. In addition, there will be bitterly cold temperatures tomorrow morning for the entirety of the scheduled parade time. It is the collective opinion of our council's volunteer and professional leadership that holding the parade tomorrow would create an unnecessary risk for our Scouts, their families and our Scout volunteers.

Please stay safe and warm today and this weekend!
